We are delighted to report that we won the award for Best Community Engagement Project at the nationwide Community Rail Awards held in Newcastle on 13th March 2025. Our project, ‘Sharing our Past, Building our Future’ was an inter-generational, multi-media project which celebrated the stories of the station’s 160 year history. We are especially pleased because our success demonstrates the love of our station and railway, shared by residents, visitors and rail employees, past and present.
